There are a number of opportunities within Voluntary and Community sector (VCS) settings to work with children and young people aged 16 - 25.
There are many VCS organisation across North Yorkshire who support young people towards independence and inclusion. Services like the YMCA and Foundation Housing provides access to training, education and employment opportunities for 16-25 year olds needing support in their transition from youth to adulthood.
The VCS also provides many specialist services for disabled young people. There are charities and organisations across North Yorkshire offering a range of services, skills and leisure activities to young people aged 16 – 25. Charities like Barnardo’s Dr B's, run a successful training restaurant and coffee shop in Harrogate where they provide training in catering and clerical skills in a real work environment for young people aged between 16 and 24 with a wide range of learning needs.
